Childsplay Liverpool Fashion Week 2015

I was super excited a few weeks ago, when I received my invitation to Liverpool Fashion Week which took place last week in Liverpool’s fabulous Liner Hotel.  So in order to prepare myself properly, I went shopping for some cool outfits (not every photographer has to wear black trekking shoes and a big back backpack after all… plus there is always a great reason to go shopping…) The message of Liverpool Fashion Week was that you don’t have to go to London to see some fabulous clothes, so I was eager to find out what our designers have to offer to us fashion lovers in the North West.

So I headed to the Liner Hotel in Liverpool to check it out for you. The venue had a nautical theme, as the hotel is decorated to look like a steamship inside. I consider myself a land animal, so I usually admire boats from the safe distance, but this seemed like a safe choice for me and I did definitely not get sea sick. :)

Opening night of The Liverpool Fashion Week was all about couture. Couture and diversity. That’s because diversity was one of the great mottos of this year’s event. Not only could you see wide variety of fashion tailored to different taste and trying to be more affordable for all of us, but also the models wearing the gorgeous outfits were each beautiful in a different way, whether skinny or a little more curvaceous.

The second night was totally different and it allowed new talents to showcase their collections. Liverpool Fashion Week 2015 has teamed up with London College of Style and presented us collections of new designers.

The fashion week finished in the stylish Liverpool Marina with diverse exhibitions, shopping fair and couture closing night. A perfect occasion if you wanted to meet with your friends and have a great evening surrounded by some beautiful clothes.

My highlight: designer Erica Wildflower and her nautical collection for her bold use of colours and not being scared to go for different cuts.

Now the champagne glass is empty and my heals are back in the wardrobe, I am already excited to see what Liverpool Fashion Week has planned for us in 2016!
